The German producer’s second studio album following his self released debut 2012’s A Forest. Whereas his first record was very sample-based Löffler has taken a much more organic approach with Mare in which nearly every sound and every instrument is self-recorded. Still using deep-house as the framework for his tracks many of the album’s ideas are based on field-recordings taken from the surroundings. On top of this several microphones were set up in the room and left to run on for whole sessions.
