Overview:
Arranger, composer, bandleader and orchestrator Nelson Riddle’s work for Capitol Records helped keep such vocalists as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Johnny Mathis, and Rosemary Clooney household names. He also composed a number of acclaimed film soundtracks from the mid-50s through the mid-80s including the original score to Stanley Kubrick’s provocative 1962 black comedy Lolita. It features the catchy instrumental “Lolita Ya Ya” which later became a hit single for The Ventures while the main theme was composed by Bob Harris.
