Columbia University graduate student Babe Levy (Dustin Hoffman) spends his spare time running in marathons. He finds himself running for his life, however, when he unwittingly becomes entangled in an espionage plot involving fierce Nazi fugitive Szell (Sir Laurence Olivier).
