Junun is the collaborative album from composer Shye Ben Tzur, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and the Indian ensemble the Rajasthan Express. Recorded in a makeshift studio inside Jodhpur’s 15th‑century Mehrangarh Fort and produced by Nigel Godrich, it fuses Ben Tzur’s devotional compositions with Sufi qawwal voices sung in Urdu and Hebrew. Greenwood contributes guitar, bass, keyboards, ondes Martenot, and programming, drawing on North Indian ragas and using harmony sparingly to foreground rhythm and pulse. The production embraces the raw, immediate energy of the sessions, favoring feel over polish.This special edition is available as a 2LP Gatefold Yellow & Orange Marble vinyl and as a CD digisleeve, both with a booklet.The making of Junun was captured by filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, offering an intimate portrait of the sessions and the vibrant daily life surrounding them.
